THE FREDERICTON CONCERT & MARCHING BAND

Established in 1975

The Fredericton Concert and Marching Band (FCMB), established in 1975, is the official band of Fredericton, New Brunswick. Under the direction of Heather Fyffe, FCMB is a community-based ensemble dedicated to musical excellence and to enriching the city’s cultural life through performance and public engagement.

The band brings together musicians of a range of ages and backgrounds, presenting two to three indoor concerts annually, as well as outdoor performances in the City’s Officers’ Square Summer Concert series.  The band also takes part in key civic events, including the Remembrance Day Ceremony, the Santa Claus Parade, and the Mayor’s Tree Lighting.

FCMB welcomes new members who play a band instrument, from teens to seniors, with sufficient experience on their instrument to keep up with the band.  We encourage prospective members to attend a rehearsal. The band rehearses Monday evenings from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at George Street Middle School during the school year and at the Odell Park Lodge during the summer. For more information, email info@fcmb.ca, or connect via the band’s official Facebook page facebook.com/frederictonconcertmarchingband.
